Sprint’s LTE network is not be the fastest in the United States, but the carrier’s tri-band Spark technology hopes to considerably beef it up. Several smartphones work on Spark, and now Sprint has announced that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 will also get 4G LTE.

The Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, which was announced alongside its bigger brethren back in April, is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor that is coupled with 1.5GB of RAM. Showing Android 4.4 KitKat in all its glory is the tablet’s 7-inch 1200 x 800 pixel LCD display.

You’ll find a 3-megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front, which will use the 16GB of onboard storage to save pictures and videos. If you need more space, the MicroSD card slot can support cards up to 64GB in size.

Unfortunately, in order to take advantage of Spark, you have to live in a metropolitan area where it has been deployed. There are currently 27 areas with Spark, and Sprint says it’s on track to cover 100 million Americans by year’s end. If you’re interested in purchasing the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 through Sprint, it’ll be available on August 15 for $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $12.50, coupled with a service plan. If you forgo the payment plan, it’ll be $300.
