Samsung updates its Gear Fit, Gear 2, and Gear 2 Neo with key enhancements

Samsung has begun rolling out an update to the Gear Fit, Gear 2, and Gear 2 Neo. According to the South Korean company, the update is based on customer feedback.

Key enhancements as part of the update include:

  • Pedometer is more accurate and starts counting steps automatically
  • Higher pedometer goals
  • An easier pedometer data transfer process
  • Improved heart rate monitor accuracy
  • Updated Sleep Mode that disables the screen wake-up feature, so you can wear it while sleeping without being disturbed
  • More options for messages sent to rejected calls and the ability to create custom messages

To download the update, you’ll need to download it from the Gear Manager app on your paired Samsung smartphone. Just recently, Fleksy announced that its popular Android keyboard would make its way to the Gear 2.

As for original Galaxy Gear owners, you’re not left out in the update fun. A few weeks ago, Samsung updated the wearable in order for it to run the company’s operating system, Tizen, instead of Android.

As Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 continues in Barcelona, Spain, there are whispers that Samsung could be releasing not one, but two Galaxy Z Fold 6 models. More specifically, one of them could be a Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra, at least according to a report from WinFuture. If this is the case, it will be the first time that Samsung releases two Z Fold variants at the same time — and the first time we've seen an Ultra model in the Z Fold family.

For some time now, there has been a rumor that Samsung was possibly launching a second “fold” in the Galaxy Z series, which currently includes the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. However, most of the rumors up until this point have suggested that a second “Fold” model would have been a cheaper, more affordable variant. However, that may not be the case.

The Galaxy Fit 3 was accidentally revealed on a Samsung website just days ago, and now some retail boxes have been spotted in the wild, according to Gizmochina. Although the retail boxes don't reveal any new information that we didn't already know, they do suggest that Samsung is getting ready to launch the Galaxy Fit 3 very soon.
