Stretch Out with the Zivio Boom

Stretch Out with the Zivio Boom

San Francisco-based consumer electronics maker Joby has introduced its new Zivio Boom Bluetooth wireless headset, featuring an extendable microphone “boom” that lets listeners hear more of a caller’s voice and less of the noise in their environment. Folks who use Bluetooth headsets with their mobile phones may love their convenience, but trust me: folks at the other end of the phone aren’t always thrilled with the audio quality.

“The Zivio Boom was borne out of my frustration with all of the available headsets on the market,” said Joby founder JoeBen Bevirt, in a statement. ” needed a headset that would enable me to hear and be heard in noisy environments, fit my ear securely and comfortably, have a long battery life, and actually look good.”

The Zivio Boom supports Bluetooth 2.1_EDR with hands-free profile 1.5, offers 10 hours of talk time and over 12 days of standby time on a single charge (you can recharge it via USB), and is just under 54mm long when the mic is retracted: extend the boom, and the mic gets about 80mm closer to your mouth. The headset also sports integrated volume and power buttons and supports interchangeable ear gels for optimal fits.

The Zivio Boom is available now via the MyZivio Web site for $129.95.

Seeing “Unknown Caller” appear when your phone rings can be a bit unsettling. Most of us are never quite sure whether to take a chance and answer these calls or send them off to our voicemail.

After all, you never know if the person on the other end is a telemarketer or if it's a robocall, a work colleague, or a friend or family member calling from an unusual place.

Is this cheap Android phone better than the Galaxy S24? I found out
The back of the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus.

Before I put my SIM card in the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus, I had seen several reports and YouTube videos claiming it would be a great purchase if you didn’t want to buy an expensive smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy S24 or even the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max. Wow, I thought: It must be really special. While it's not especially cheap, the latest Redmi phone does look like a good value, at least on paper.

Well, it is quite good, but there’s absolutely no reason to buy it if you can stretch to a more expensive phone. Although it hasn’t been any trouble, I’m itching to switch to a different phone, and it’s one that costs exactly the same amount of money to buy. The reason why isn't to do with the specs as such but to do with life with the phone.
It's not all about the numbers
