It can be difficult for anyone to determine how much data they need each month without the amount being too much or too little. That is where T-Mobile looks to help out customers with Smart Fit.
Launched today, Smart Fit lets potential customers try out T-Mobile’s network by signing up for a $65 a month plan that includes unlimited talk, text, and data with 14GB of hot spot data. After 30 days of usage, Smart Fit makes a recommendation for which of T-Mobile’s data plans is right for you depending on how you used the aforementioned plan. If you find that the recommended data has too much or too little data, you can log into your T-Mobile account and make the necessary adjustments.
If you do not make a choice, T-Mobile automatically puts you in its $65 a month plan that includes unlimited talk, text, and data, though 4G LTE speeds are capped at 6GB. As with T-Mobile’s other data plans, your data speeds are significantly reduced once you pass that threshold.
You have to be careful to not accidentally switch plans while still in the first 30 days of Smart Fit. If you do, not only will you be booted out of the plan, but you will also not receive unlimited data and a data plan recommendation.
Smart Fit is now available to new T-Mobile customers and @Work users.
The announcement can be seen as T-Mobile’s way of continuing its positive momentum as of late. The carrier announced it added over 1 million customers for the 13th quarter in a row, with the majority opting for subscription plans over its cheaper, prepaid options. Features like Binge On, Music Freedom, and free international data roaming and texting in over 140 countries have certainly helped give T-Mobile the boost it needs to compete with the likes of AT&T and Verizon.
