Everything leaving Netflix in June 2024

For the most part, Netflix loses more movies than TV series. But in June, the streamer is about to say goodbye to one of the top dramas on network television: NCIS. Even Netflix is going to miss that show when it’s gone.

There aren’t a lot of movies leaving Netflix in June, but there are some top-tier titles that will be leaving the service including Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2, Animal House, Godzilla, and all of the early Nightmare on Elm Street flicks. Bullet Train is leaving so quickly on June 2 that you may not get a chance to watch it before it’s gone. This is why it’s so important to plan ahead so you can catch your favorite movies before they depart Netflix. We can help you with our roundup of everything leaving Netflix in June 2024. As always, our picks for the month are in bold.

Trying to fit in some great movies or shows before they’re gone from Netflix and other streaming services at the end of the month? Check our monthly roundup of everything leaving Hulu. You can find even more recommendations in our lists of the best movies on Netflix and best shows on Netflix, which are updated every week.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill Vol. 2. But since the original movie was cut in half due to length, we still recommend that you start with Kill Bill Vol. 1, especially since both parts are leaving Netflix at the end of June.

Tarantino was in top form for this revenge epic, which cast Uma Thurman as the Bride. She’s the one who wants to kill Bill (David Carradine) for sending her former teammates to murder her on the day of her wedding to another man. After spending years in a coma, the Bride embarks on a journey to knock off everyone who played a part in that attack. And the list starts with O-Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu) and Vernita Green (Vivica A. Fox). But since this is a Tarantino flick, don’t expect everything to play out in the order that it happened in.

3 underrated (HBO) Max movies you should watch this weekend (June 28-30)
A girl looks at a boy in House at the End of the Street.

June is surprisingly over, and with it, a great month for movies comes to a satisfactory close. You've probably watched Inside Out 2 or Bad Boys: Ride or Die or maybe even The Bikeriders. From blockbusters to indie fare, the theatrical movie business has been robust and healthy.

The same goes for streaming. Netflix had a big hit with Richard Linklater's Hit Man, while Amazon Prime Video recently premiered the latest bonkers season of The Boys. HBO and Max have been quieter, but their robust library speaks volumes to the streamer's high quality. The following three films are older, but are just as worth your time as new hits like House of the Dragon season 2.

3 underrated Netflix movies you should watch this weekend (June 28-30)
netflix underrated movies watch june 28 30 2024 unbroken 3

Emotions are running high in America. No, I'm not talking about politics; I'm talking about Inside Out 2. The Pixar animated movie about the inner life of a pre-teen's emotions has reigned supreme in June, grossing so much ,money that it's already on the list of the 10 most successful animated movies ever.

Not everyone is interested in that movie, or another Bad Boys sequel, or even The Bikeriders. There are those who prefer to stay home and see what's on Netflix. But instead of watching the dreadful Jessica Alba action flick Trigger Warning, try these three older movies that are almost as good, if not better, than what you can find at the movie theater.

The best horror movies on Amazon Prime right now
Daniel Radcliffe and Ciran Hinds in The Woman in Black.

One of the best streaming platforms for all things horror is Amazon Prime Video. Home to hundreds of scary titles from eras past and present, the Prime Video trove also manages to highlight films with lower budgets and less theatrical visibility. So if you want to make a cheap spooky flick with your pals, there’s a chance you could see the fruits of your labor on Prime Video someday.

That being said, there’s a lot of fodder to sort through to get to Prime Video’s really good horror movies, and it’s our job to do all the digging. We do our best to highlight horror films that were critically acclaimed, but we even try to throw a bone to the lesser-known pics that you shouldn’t miss.
