Want to see what Uncle Joey from Full House has been up to? As Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson’s Michelle Tanner might have said back in the day: “You got it, dude!”

Yes, Dave Coulier has been confirmed to reprise his role as Uncle Joey Gladstone on the Full House sequel, Fuller House, which will be coming to Netflix in 2016. Or at least he’ll appear for the first reunion episode.

Coulier, a comedian best known for this role as Uncle Joey, as well purportedly being the inspiration for Alanis Morrisette’s You Oughta Know back in the days when she was just known as “Alanis,” was, until now, one of the holdouts that we were unsure would return, let the world know he’s coming back today via Twitter.

The new show is centered around DJ Tanner (Candice Cameron Bure), the eldest Tanner daughter. In an almost surreal plot, DJ finds herself a widow when her husband sadly passes on, just as her Father was widowed in the original series. Pregnant with two young boys in tow, her sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and best friend/old neighbor Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) come to live with her and help out. The situation is a near carbon-copy remake of the original, when Danny Tanner’s (Bob Saget) best friend Joey (Coulier) and brother-in-law Jesse (John Stamos) move in to help out with his kids following the death of his wife, and never end up leaving. That’s how you get a Full House — get it?

However, today’s news doesn’t quite mean that Uncle Joey will be back in other episodes to tell this new set of kids to Cut. It. Out. or do his infamous woodchuck impression. If you read closely, his Tweet simply confirms his appearance for the reunion, but no other subsequent episodes.

Stamos has been involved in producing the project from the get-go, originally revealing the show on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The show will be directed by Mark Cendrowski of The Big Bang Theory. The original show was created by Jeff Franklin, and ran from 1987 to 1995 on ABC.

It still remains unknown whether Lori Loughlin, who played Aunt Becky, will return, as well as the Olsen twins, who shared the role of the youngest child Michelle. Reportedly, Saget is “in talks” to return, at least for a reunion. Have mercy!

3 underrated (HBO) Max movies you should watch this weekend (June 28-30)
A girl looks at a boy in House at the End of the Street.

June is surprisingly over, and with it, a great month for movies comes to a satisfactory close. You've probably watched Inside Out 2 or Bad Boys: Ride or Die or maybe even The Bikeriders. From blockbusters to indie fare, the theatrical movie business has been robust and healthy.

The same goes for streaming. Netflix had a big hit with Richard Linklater's Hit Man, while Amazon Prime Video recently premiered the latest bonkers season of The Boys. HBO and Max have been quieter, but their robust library speaks volumes to the streamer's high quality. The following three films are older, but are just as worth your time as new hits like House of the Dragon season 2.

The best Netflix original series right now
Eric and Benedict Cumberbatch in Eric.

The era of Peak TV was also Peak Netflix, because the streamer seemingly had an endless supply of new original series. So far in 2024, that hasn't been the case. Whether we'll ever get the same level of content again seems unlikely for now. But even in a reduced capacity, Netflix still has a few new additions to its lineup of originals.

For the month of June, we're adding the '80s-set thriller, Eric, which stars Benedict Cumbebatch. Our other pick for the month is Supacell, which is Netflix's new British series that remixes some old superhero archetypes. That's not a very big selection for fans who always want something new, but this roundup of the best Netflix original series really does have all of the top options in one place for you. All you have to do is scroll down and make time to binge watch some shows.
