What’s new on Netflix and what’s leaving in June 2024

Glen Powell and Adria Arjona in Hit Man.
Netflix

Sometimes Netflix truly has the best of both worlds, as exemplified by the new arrivals in June. Netflix split Bridgerton season 3 in two so it could save some episodes premiering this month, which only strengths the lineup of originals that also includes the third and final season of Sweet Tooth and Hit Man, the new film starring Glen Powell and Adria Arjona.

But Netflix isn’t fully reliant on original content as long as it can grab shows like Dexter and How I Met Your Mother, or films like Crazy Rich Asians and The Lego Batman Movie from other studios. Additionally, the Netflix algorithm is always surprising us by picking an obscure flick that suddenly races to the top of the list of the most popular movies on Netflix. And it’s almost impossible to pick which movies will achieve that breakout success.

To help you make your viewing plans for the month ahead, we’ve put together a complete roundup of everything new on Netflix in June 2024 and everything that’s leaving at the end of the month. Our picks for the month are in bold.

If you’re looking for some additional guidance on what to watch, we also have lists of the best movies on Netflix and the best shows on Netflix. If Netflix isn’t your only streaming service, we also have helpful articles on the best movies on Amazon Prime and the best TV shows on Amazon Prime, as well as plenty of guides for Hulu, Disney+, and HBO Max.

Everything coming to PBS in June 2024
Two vicars and a man stand in Grantchester.

When it comes to new programming on PBS, June is going to get off to a slow start. But by the middle of the month, three British dramas -- D.I. Ray, Grantchester, and Professor T -- will all be back with new seasons. And if you're looking for some light-hearted competition to watch, the third season of The Great American Recipe is also arriving just in time for summer.

PBS' mandate is programming that serves the public interest. This month, PBS is doing that with a Frontline investigation into the ongoing campus protests about the war in Gaza, as well nature specials, documentaries, and a Great Performances' presentation of Carmen. And it's all free to watch, thanks to viewers like you.

What’s new on Peacock in June 2024
Keanu Reeves in John Wick Chapter 2.

If you're coming to Peacock in June looking for big movies premiering for the first time or new original series, then you may be disappointed. It's going to be a quiet month on that front for Peacock, perhaps because a good deal of June will be focusing on the U.S. Olympic trials ahead of the Olympic Games later this summer.

On the bright side, Peacock's incoming lineup of movies is very solid, including the first three John Wick films, The Bourne Identity, Gladiator, and more. There are also some head-scratching arrivals including several Christmas films that are about five months premature. Of those flicks, Anna and the Apocalypse's delightful blend of zombies, musicals, and Christmas cheer is a particular favorite of ours.

Everything leaving Hulu in June 2024
Robert Pattinson in The Batman.

By now, Hulu subscribers are used to the idea of movies coming and going at seemingly random intervals. We've lost track of how many times the Die Hard films have departed and returned (they'll all be gone from Hulu again at the end of June). It's more intriguing to see movies that you wouldn't expect on Hulu, like The Batman and Joker, both of which are making brief appearances this month.

While Max has seemingly abandoned the idea of letting subscribers know which films are departing at the end of any given month, Hulu is very upfront about it. That gives you, and all of the other the Hulu subscribers, ample opportunities to catch your favorite movies before they leave. The only thing that you have to do is make time to watch them. If you go through our list of everything leaving Hulu in June 2024, then getting a viewing plan together should be the easy part. Our favorite picks for the month are in bold.
