Ghostbusters director Paul Feig teased fans this week with a pair of photos featuring the jumpsuits and proton packs his team of paranormal investigators will wear in the film. Although the photos that Feig posted on Twitter don’t feature any of the cast actually wearing their gear, the images do offer some assurance that the film will — from a costuming perspective, at least — not stray too far from the original films.
Paraphrasing the franchise’s famous “Who you gonna call?” tagline, Feig captioned the jumpsuit photo “#whatyougonnawear” and the photo of the team’s proton packs (the tools they use to capture ghosts) with “whatyougonnashoot.”

Directed by Feig from a script penned by himself and Katie Dippold (The Heat, MADtv), the Ghostbusters reboot stars Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, and Leslie Jones as the new team of ghost-chasers charged with wrangling all manner of supernatural nuisances. Thor star Chris Hemsworth will play the team’s receptionist.
Feig has confirmed that the film pay homage to the previous franchise, which began with 1984’s Ghostbusters and continued in 1989’s Ghostbusters II, but will unfold in its own continuity without any connection to the earlier films.
Back in March, a rumor indicated that Sony Pictures is also considering a spinoff movie that will feature an all-male cast of Ghostbusters operating in the same continuity as Feig’s film as part of an effort to build a “cinematic universe” around the rebooted franchise.
Feig’s Ghostbusters is currently filming in New York City, and is expected to move to Boston at some point for additional filming. The Ghostbusters reboot is expected to hit theaters July 22, 2016.
