How’d they do that?! The insane trailer for Hardcore Henry will have you guessing

The first trailer for Hardcore Henry, a sci-fi action movie shot entirely from the hero’s perspective, debuted before its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival last year. All of the positive buzz the film generated there paved the way for a theatrical release later this year and a brand new, full-length trailer that debuted online this week.

And much as with the first trailer, everything we see of Hardcore Henry suggests that the film will have no problem living up to its title.

Produced by Wanted and Night Watch director Timur Bekmambetov and directed by Ilya Naishuller, Hardcore Henry unfolds from the point of view of a man who’s been resurrected from the dead by his scientist wife (The Equalizer‘s Haley Bennett) and turned into a near-indestructible cyborg. Shortly after his resurrection, his wife is kidnapped and Henry must fight his way through wave after wave of hired soldiers to rescue her. He’s assisted on his mission by a mysterious British man named Jimmy, played by District 9 and Elysium actor Sharlto Copley.

If this all sounds familiar to gamers, that’s because Naishuller is an avid video gamer himself, and channeled his love for first-person shooter games into the grand experiment that is Hardcore Henry.

Naishuller first garnered attention for his 2013 short film Bad Motherf–ker, which used first-person perspective to tell a story about a mysterious protagonist’s pursuit of a man carrying a mysterious, glowing device. The five-minute film has been viewed more than 29 million times since it debuted online in March 2013.

Hardcore Henry won the People’s Choice Midnight Madness Award at last year’s Toronto Film Festival and was the subject of a bidding war after its successful premiere there.

Hardcore Henry is scheduled for a limited release in theaters that kicks off April 8.

Amid the chaos of the COVID-19 outbreak, “Wash your hands!” has become the battle cry of 2020. For many people, their hands are the primary way they interact with objects around them, in the process coming into contact with all the viruses and bacteria that might be lurking invisibly. Washing your hands properly (20 seconds with soap and hot water) and frequently, while avoiding any touching of their faces, is one of the best ways a person can reduce their chances of catching the virus.

Frequent hand-washing won’t do you much good if you immediately start touching contaminated objects, however, and unless you were a stringent cleaner before the outbreak, chances are a lot of the gadgets you use in everyday life haven’t gotten a good decontamination in a while, if at all. Here’s why you need to wash your gadgets, and how often.
How does coronavirus spread, and how long can it survive on surfaces?
Although experts are still not entirely certain how the virus spreads, the evidence indicates that it spreads “mainly from person-to-person … Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes,” according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

3 underrated (HBO) Max movies you should watch this weekend (June 28-30)
A girl looks at a boy in House at the End of the Street.

June is surprisingly over, and with it, a great month for movies comes to a satisfactory close. You've probably watched Inside Out 2 or Bad Boys: Ride or Die or maybe even The Bikeriders. From blockbusters to indie fare, the theatrical movie business has been robust and healthy.

The same goes for streaming. Netflix had a big hit with Richard Linklater's Hit Man, while Amazon Prime Video recently premiered the latest bonkers season of The Boys. HBO and Max have been quieter, but their robust library speaks volumes to the streamer's high quality. The following three films are older, but are just as worth your time as new hits like House of the Dragon season 2.
