The new shot of Han Solo’s famous spaceship appears in Fortune magazine’s profile of Iger, which not only features Iger prominently on the cover of the issue with the Millennium Falcon in the background (see below), but also includes a photo of Iger posing in front of a digitally created, close-up of the docked craft. Both images are posted at Fortune.com, along with a brief “making of” piece that explains how the photo featuring the docked Millennium Falcon was created.
“The collaboration started with our photo shoot with CEO Iger earlier this month in New York,” reads the article. “The photos were then turned over to [Industrial Light & Magic] to, well, work their magic. Not surprisingly, the secretive division was mum about the exact process for creating the realistic shot of Iger standing right on set, casually leaning against a chunk of metal (the image seen in the opening pages of the story).”
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is scheduled to hit theaters December 18, 2015. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, and Miltos Yerolemou.
