New trailer for Jurassic World packs in more velociraptor gangs and one big dino

Jurassic World Official Global Trailer HD
The relationship between Chris Pratt’s character in Jurassic World and the group of velociraptors he’s seemingly developed an understanding with has become one of the most talked-about elements of the upcoming film, so it makes sense that the latest trailer for the movie directs its attention to that relationship — while offering up some major dinosaur-fueled mayhem, too.

Dubbed the “Global Trailer” for the film, the new preview of Jurassic World divides its time between Pratt and his ‘raptor pals and a terrifying, genetically engineered super-dinosaur that the park’s scientists created to drive up attendance. And as one might expect from a Jurassic Park movie, there’s no shortage of running and screaming to go along with all of the dino-chaos.

Set 22 years after the events of the original Jurassic Park, the long-awaited fourth film in the series returns to the fantastic theme park where dinosaurs still roam the Earth and guests can wander among them — until something goes wrong and the dinosaurs start eating everything in sight, of course. According to director Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed), the idea for the film was spawned by the image of a bored teen texting on a phone while a Tyrannosaurus Rex looms behind a wall of glass just a few feet away.

Along with Pratt, the film stars Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help), Ty Simpkins (Iron Man 3), Jake Johnson (Let’s Be Cops), Nick Robinson (The Kings of Summer), Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi), Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil), B.D. Wong (Jurassic Park), Omar Sy (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Judy Greer (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Lauren Lapkus (Blended), and Andy Buckley (Bridesmaids).

Jurassic World is slated to stomp its way into standard, 3D, and IMAX theaters on June 12, 2015.

Barbie heads to the real world in new trailer based on iconic doll
Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie sing in a car in Barbie.

Warner Bros. released a new trailer for the highly anticipated Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie (Babylon) in the titular role. The latest footage teases a conflict in Barbieland as Barbie begins to experience minor inconveniences such as cold showers and flat feet.

Barbie must travel to the real world to learn the truth about the universe. However, she's not going alone as Ken (The Gray Man's Ryan Gosling) accompanies his best friend on the journey. Upon arrival, the duo struggles to adjust to the real world, which is the opposite of the idyllic Barbieland. Making matters worse, the toy company CEO (Spirited's Will Ferrell) says the dolls' presence in the real world is "catastrophic," and fights to return Barbie and Ken to their home.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2 trailer unveils Lower Decks crossover
Jack Quaid and Tawny Newsome in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Crossovers are nothing new for the Star Trek franchise. That tradition began in 1987 when original series star DeForest Kelley reprised his role as Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy in the first episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. But in the upcoming second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, there's a unique crossover coming between this series and the animated program Star Trek: Lower Decks. For the first time in Star Trek history, two characters from an animated series will appear in live-action, and they will be portrayed by the same performers who provide their voices. As seen in the new Strange New Worlds trailer below, Tawny Newsome and Jack Quaid are reprising their respective roles as Beckett Mariner and Brad Boimler.

The Flash’s new trailer reveals a world without superheroes
Ezra Miller in The Flash.

Perhaps the only thing more alarming than running into Pennywise the Dancing Clown would be to encounter two Ezra Millers in a bad mood. But regardless of what the embattled actor has done in the past, Miller is headlining The Flash as two different versions of Barry Allen. The good news is that Warner Bros. has so much faith in the work of It director Andy Muschietti's work that The Flash is being screened today at CinemaCon, well over a month before it hits theaters. Those of us who aren't in Las Vegas will just have to settle for a rousing trailer, which you can see below.
