Builders, block-breakers, and creeper-killers, you might want to clear your schedule on May 24, 2019. That’s the new, official release date for the Minecraft movie.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Mojang jointly announced the film’s premiere date this week, and indicated that the film will debut in standard, IMAX, and 3D theaters when it finally arrives.

Set to be directed by It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator, writer, and star Rob McElhenney, the Minecraft movie remains a bit of a mystery at this point, with little known about its plot or premise. Still, with the open-world building game attracting more than 100 million players, there’s no shortage of interest in whatever form the movie takes.

“Hello future Minecraft movie-goers!” wrote Mojang COO Vu Bui in a statement accompanying the release date announcement. “I know you’ve been thinking just about every day, ‘When’s the Minecraft movie coming out?’ Luckily for you, we can finally say! The Minecraft movie will be released on May 24, 2019! The film will also be released in 3D & IMAX.”

“Yes, that might seem like a long time away, but it just so happens to be the right amount of time to make it completely awesome,” continued Bui. “And we all want an awesome Minecraft movie, right? That’s it for now, but as time goes on we’ll share loads more. Loads!”

Right now, the schedule for summer movies in 2019 is pretty sparse, with only two projects currently on the calendar — but both projects are big ones. Avengers: Infinity War – Part II is currently scheduled to hit theaters May 3, while the second Justice League movie from Warner Bros. will hit theaters June 14.

The LEGO Movie producer Roy Lee and Mean Girls producer Jill Messick are both attached to produce Minecraft for Warner Bros. and Mojang.

Ark 2: release date speculation, platforms, trailers, gameplay, and more
People riding a T-Rex in Ark 2.

In the surge of survival games that flooded the market around the time of Minecraft's release, only a few were able to carve out an audience and, well, survive. Those that did were the ones that had strong mechanics, lots of content, and a unique spin on the world. Ark: Survival Evolved was a little late to the party in some ways, hitting early access in 2015 and fully launching in 2017, but it was a hit right from the start. That was, of course, thanks to the key feature of the game: dinosaurs.

A sequel was not only announced, but it also has the involvement of none other than Vin Diesel himself. Seeing Diesel riding on the back of a T-Rex might be enough on its own to sell most people on this ambitious survival game, but for everyone else who needs a bit more information before investing in this prehistoric adventure, here's everything we know about Ark 2.

Death Stranding 2: release date speculation, trailers, gameplay, and more
Sam Bridges walks on a ridge in front of the moon.

There were plenty of hints along the way, and even some leaks by the leading man himself, but it was only made official at the Game Awards 2022 that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is on its way. Coming from the same influential and creative mind as the original, as well as the Metal Gear franchise before it, Hideo Kojima introduced the game himself. Of course, nothing about Kojima's games are straight forward, and what was revealed about Death Stranding 2 probably raised more questions than it answered. We're strapping on our boots, connecting to our BBs, and are ready to make the trek to find out everything there is about Death Stranding 2.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach only has the wide release window of 2025.
