AMC debuted a new clip from Preacher during the Season Two premiere of Fear the Walking Dead this week, and the footage offers a good idea of what we can expect to see when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actress Ruth Negga takes on the role of Tulip O’Hare, the deadly ex-girlfriend of the series’ titular preacher.

Executive produced by Seth Rogen, the series casts Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, a small-town Texas preacher who acquires a powerful ability and embarks on a mission that will shake both Heaven and Hell. He’s joined by Tulip, his tough-as-nails former girlfriend, and a drunken Irish rogue named Cassidy (as played by Misfits actor Joseph Gilgun) with a dark secret of his own.
In the brief clip from the series, Tulip (Negga) is seen brawling with someone in the front — and then back — of a car that is speeding through a cornfield. The camera alternates between their brutal fight and an exterior shot of the car cutting a twisted path through the field as the two attempt to punch, kick, shoot, and stab each other in the cramped vehicle.
Based on a pilot penned by Breaking Bad writer Sat Catlin, Preacher also features actor Ian Colletti as the character “Arseface,” as well as W. Earl Brown as Sheriff Hugo Root, Lucy Griffiths as an original character created for the series, and Elizabeth Perkins as Vyla Quinncannon, an amalgam of several characters from the comic.
Preacher is scheduled to premiere Sunday, May 22 at 10:00 pm ET on AMC.
