Did the weekend fly by and you totally forgot to catch up on the latest streaming content? We’re here to remind you that you can now watch Raya and the Last Dragon — the latest animation from Disney — over at Disney+ as part of its $30 Premier Access service. It’s the perfect time to sign up for Disney+ if you haven’t already.

The movie stars Kelly Marie Tran as Raya, a warrior who has to track down the last surviving dragon in her world in a bid to stop an evil ancient enemy from destroying everything she loves. Featuring a cast including Awkwafina, Daniel Dae Kim, and Alan Tudyk, the movie should be a fantastic hit for all the family. Set in the mystical world of Kumandra, it looks at a time when people and dragons coexisted side-by-side peacefully until the evil Druun arrived and the dragons were forced to sacrifice themselves to save their human friends. The film picks up the story centuries later with the plucky Raya out to save everyone.

As with previous major Disney+ releases like Mulan, Raya and the Last Dragon is available exclusively as part of the streaming service’s Premier Access. Premier Access offers viewers a chance to see movies they’d normally only be able to watch at movie theaters. For just $30 on top of your usual subscription fee, you can watch Raya and the Last Dragon, or you can wait until June 4 to watch it for free as part of your regular Disney+ subscription.

Raya and the Last Dragon already looks to be a groundbreaking animation from Disney with a predominantly Asian-American cast and a soundtrack that features Disney’s first-ever Filipino-language song titled Gabay.

If you haven’t signed up to Disney+, this is the ideal time to go for it. Disney+ offers access to almost all of Disney’s past movies along with dozens of fantastic Disney shorts. It also provides you with access to everything that Marvel and Star Wars have to offer including smash hits like The Mandalorian and WandaVision. Disney+ is just $7 per month or $70 per year, working out as tremendous value for Disney-loving folks. If you’re looking for even better value, you can also grab The Disney Bundle which costs just $13 per month and includes Disney+ along with Hulu (ad-supported) and ESPN+ saving you 25% on the combined subscription prices. What are you waiting for? Subscribe today!

A man aims his camera in Scoop.

Thrillers come in all shapes and sizes. There's the psychological or serial killer thriller, which was popularized in the '90s by The Silence of the Lambs and Se7en. There's the erotic thriller, which had its heyday in the late '80s and early '90s with such hits as Fatal Attraction and Basic Instinct. And then there's the action thriller, which is probably the most popular offshoot of the genre right now, with the Taken series and Salt as prime examples.

Recently, there's been a revival of a subgenre that's been dormant since the 1970s: the journalism thriller. From Nightcrawler with Jake Gyllenhaal to the Oscar-winning Spotlight to 2022's She Said, this type of thriller usually centers around journalists pursuing a controversial and sometimes dangerous story. One of the best journalism thrillers has just been released by Netflix: Scoop. In chronicling how the BBC managed to snag the scoop of the decade by interviewing Prince Andrew about his connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the movie manages to be suspenseful, informative, and one of 2024's most purely entertaining films.

There are plenty of reasons to be skeptical of the streaming revolution and everything that it's wrought. Still, one undeniable benefit of all these streaming services is that, in addition to more American content, we also get more stuff from other countries.

Not all of that stuff is great, of course, but entire new fandoms have emerged in part through American exposure to great TV and movies from all over the world. That may be true when it comes to Korean dramas, which have become incredibly popular in recent years. 4 great claustrophobic thrillers you can stream right now
Girls with masks from Last Shift.

Movies that focus on people or groups trapped in a single location tend to be thrillers or horror movies. The characters start in a setting they at least have some sense of comfort in – but as their reality sets in, that comfort slowly fades to panic, and their location begins to transform into a prison. It's a setup guaranteed to racket up the tension and one used by directors as old as Alfred Hitchcock and as modern as David Fincher.

Yet there are a lot of movies like these out there that aren't all that great. Fortunately, Digital Trends has picked four feature films showing how much depth and originality these single-location movies can have. From an awkward dinner party that devolves into violence to a deep-sea mining rig terrorized by an unknown creature, these claustrophobic thrillers are sure to entertain and frighten you.
