Roll for initiative in Stranger Things 4’s final trailer

It’s been far too long since we’ve checked in with the kids of Stranger Things. But this week, the wait will come to an end with the premiere of Stranger Things 4. In the final trailer for the new season, almost all of the familiar characters are back. But perhaps the most stunning development is that some of the teens may be going into the Upside Down itself.

But first, Dustin and the gang have become the Hellfire Club, a new Dungeons and Dragons group, and they’re playing on a much bigger stage than before. Meanwhile, Lucas is finding athletic success on the basketball court, and something very strange is happening to Max. And when we say “strange,” we mean it’s bizarre even by Hawkins’ standards!

As for the rest, Jim Hopper is still a prisoner somewhere in Russia, while Eleven may once again be in the custody of the men who gave her superhuman powers. For now, most of the characters appear to be in their own separate stories. But if previous seasons of Stranger Things have taught us anything, we know they will all come together at the end.

Winona Ryder headlines the series as Joyce Byers, with David Harbour as Jim Hopper, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven/Jane Hopper, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Sadie Sink as Max Mayfield, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Maya Hawke as Robin Buckley, Priah Ferguson as Erica Sinclair, Cara Buono as Karen Wheeler, Brett Gelman as Murray Bauman, Jamie Campbell Bower as Peter Ballard, Eduardo Franco as Argyle, and Joseph Quinn as Eddie Munson.

Manifest season 4 part 2’s ending, explained
Ben and Michaela walking into the light in a scene from Manifest.

“We’re all in this together.” That’s the overarching theme of Manifest. After being canceled by NBC, the supernatural drama was saved by Netflix to give it the ending it deserved. The first half of Manifest season 4 was released in December 2022. Fittingly, the final 10 episodes premiered on June 2, the "Death Date" on the show when the passengers of Flight 828 would finally realize their fate.

What was that fate? It was all revealed in the final episode. But first, the passengers had to go through a journey to get there.

A man stands next to a woman in Manifest.

"Now, we're finally at the end," Ben Stone (Once Upon a Time's Josh Dallas) tells the survivors of Flight 828 in the opening moments of the new Manifest trailer. The show is also reaching its conclusion as the final 10 episodes of Manifest season 4, part 2 will serve as the series finale.

"In the aftermath of Angelina (The Americans' Holly Taylor) unleashing a volcanic fissure, the passengers face severe scrutiny in a world fueled by 828er hate, no longer free to solve their own Callings without constant supervision by the unscrupulous 828 Registry," the official synopsis reads.

We're still a long time away from Stranger Things season 5, but that hasn't stopped Netflix from releasing more news about their biggest original franchise. While the prospect of spinoffs has been teased before, it's never been quite like this. Deadline is reporting that Netflix has given the green light to a Stranger Things animated series. Matt and Ross Duffer, the creators of Stranger Things, will executive produce the series, which will feature Eric Robles as the showrunner.

“We’ve always dreamed of an animated Stranger Things in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons that we grew up loving, and to see this dream realized has been absolutely thrilling,” said the Duffer brothers in a statement. “We couldn’t be more blown away by what Eric Robles and his team have come up with — the scripts and artwork are incredible, and we can’t wait to share more with you! The adventure continues.”
