When is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse streaming?

It took almost five years, but the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse finally arrived and was one of the top hits of the summer. And Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is everything you could hope for from a follow-up — and more. It has a much bigger scale than the first film, with literally hundreds of Spider-Heroes, at least five distinct animated worlds, and a ton of heart that made this sequel a huge success.

The incredible visuals got people into theaters, but the characters are the reasons why moviegoers kept coming back to see it. Shameik Moore reprises his role as Miles Morales, a teenage Spider-Man who has a lot of questions about his future. Also returning from the first film is Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, New Girl‘s Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, and Causeway‘s Brian Tyree Henry and Luna Lauren Vélez as Miles’ parents, Jefferson and Rio Morales, both of whom have much meatier roles in the sequel.

Now, read on if you want to find out if Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is streaming right now.

Not just yet, but soon! Netflix has announced that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will make its streaming debut on Tuesday, October 31. That might even be a good enough reason to stay home on Halloween and watch it with all of the candy and snacks that you desire.

But if you can’t wait that long, a full digital, Blu-ray, and 4K release is already available.

Will Across the Spider-Verse come to Disney+?

Sony Pictures Animation

Yes, eventually. Sony has deals with both Netflix and Disney. In the first window after a film’s theatrical release, Sony’s movies will stream on Netflix. After an extended period, sometimes 12 to 18 months, Disney+ and Hulu can stream Sony’s movies in the second window of their release. Given the time frame of Across the Spider-Verse‘s Netflix debut, it won’t hit Disney+ before late 2024, or even 2025.

Yes, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is available to stream. Just not on Netflix, Disney+, or any of the major streaming services. It’s truly baffling as to why Sony let that happen to this Oscar-winning blockbuster. For now, you can stream Into the Spider-Verse on Fubo TV, while cable subscribers can stream Into the Spider-Verse through FX NOW.

Sony and Marvel's latest Spider-Man spinoff, Madame Web, has finally swung into theaters. Set in the year 2003, Madame Web follows paramedic/clairvoyant Cassie Webb (Dakota Johnson) as she tries to protect three young women destined to become Spider-Women from being hunted down by the evil Ezekiel Sims (Tahar Rahim). Said Spider-Women include Julia Cornwall (Sydney Sweeney), Mattie Franklin (Celeste O'Connor), and Anya Corazon (Isabela Merced).

Though it is only the fourth film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe, it has been received just as well as one would expect from the franchise at this point. Before this film even came out, fans knew it would be another misfire on par with Morbius, and things have turned out just as they were foretold. Nevertheless, it's clear that this story is meant to set up something big for the franchise. So now, let's break down what the movie and its ending mean for this cinematic universe.

Spider-Man vs. Harry Potter: Which one is the best?
Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man and Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter.

Although the magical Hogwarts adventures of Harry Potter and the super villaininfested New York City of Spider-Man are worlds apart, the two franchises have a common history in this century. The first Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, arrived in theaters in November 2001. Six months later, Spider-Man marked his big-screen debut in May 2002. Both film series went on to be among the highest-grossing franchises ever.

There isn't a true rivalry between Spider-Man and Harry Potter fans in the way that fans would pit comic book heroes against each other. Comic book crossovers actually exist that have put Spider-Man in stories opposite Superman and Batman, the only superheroes who are on his level or beyond. A Spider-Man and Harry Potter crossover is unlikely to ever happen outside the realm of fan fiction, but their similar history makes it an intriguing matchup. So we've decided to compare them in five key categories in order to determine who would be the winner in a Spider-Man versus Harry Potter battle.
