Watch all the Super Bowl movie trailers from this year’s game

Solo: A Star Wars Story "Big Game" TV Spot (:45)
The Super Bowl is over, and along with crowning the Philadelphia Eagles as champion of the 2017-18 NFL season, the game also provided one of the biggest forums for advertisers. Together with all of the commercials for beer, cars, and various other products we’ve come to associate with the Big Game, the Super Bowl also served up new trailers and footage from some of the hottest upcoming movies. We had some big trailers to get excited about this year, including Avengers: Infinity WarSolo: A Star Wars StoryJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and The Cloverfield Paradox.

Here are all the Super Bowl movie trailers released this year:

‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War - Big Game Spot

The Super Bowl is one of the biggest professional sports events of the year, so it makes sense for the biggest event in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to be represented during the festivities. Infinity War brings together just about every character from Marvel’s movie-verse to date, and pits them against the villain Thanos in what is shaping up to be a brutal battle for the fate of reality itself.

Avengers: Infinity War premieres May 4.

‘The Cloverfield Paradox’

THE CLOVERFIELD PARADOX | PREMIERES TONIGHT | NETFLIX

Netflix shocked everyone by not only debuting the first trailer for the third film in the Cloverfield franchise (previously known as “God Particle”), but also announcing that the film would be available on the streaming platform immediately after the game. How’s that for a surprise? The next installment of the loosely connected sci-fi series follows a group of scientists aboard the international space station caught up in a mysterious, terrifying event that somehow ties into — and possibly serves as a prequel to — the events of 2008’s original Cloverfield.

The Cloverfield Paradox will be available to watch after the game on Netflix.

‘Mission: Impossible — Fallout’

Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018) - Official Trailer - Paramount Pictures

Just a week before the Super Bowl, Tom Cruise announced the title for the sixth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise, which brings back Cruise as intrepid secret agent Ethan Hunt. Cruise himself posted a preview of the film’s trailer earlier in the week, and confirmed the full trailer would debut during the game.

Mission: Impossible — Fallout sends Ethan and the rest of his Impossible Mission Force teammates on the run after a mission goes bad, and brings Superman actor Henry Cavill into the Mission: Impossible universe, among other newcomers. We’ve already seen evidence of one of the stunts Cruise will undertake in the film.

Mission: Impossible — Fallout hits theaters July 27.

‘Skyscraper’

Skyscraper - Big Game Spot [HD]

We haven’t seen much from this action thriller that casts Dwayne Johnson as a former FBI hostage specialist who now evaluates security at skyscrapers, but Johnson posted a teaser for the film’s official trailer on February 2, ahead of the game.

The film’s international cast also includes Neve Campbell, Chin Han, Roland Møller, Pablo Schreiber, Byron Mann, Hannah Quinlivan, and Noah Taylor. Director Rawson Thurber is no stranger to the Super Bowl, having directed the Terry Tate: Office Linebacker commercials for Reebok that aired during the 2003 game.

Skyscraper is scheduled to hit theaters July 13.

‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’

We’re getting the first full new Star Wars trailer the morning after the game, but with the film’s premiere just a few months away, you can’t blame Disney and Lucasfilm for putting the film in front of one of the biggest audiences possible. Solo explores the life of everyone’s favorite shoot-first smuggler in the years leading up to his fateful encounter with Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in a Mos Eisley cantina. The film features two-time Academy Award winner Ron Howard behind the camera after the exit of original filmmakers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and Hail, Caesar! actor Alden Ehrenreich in the role of a young Han Solo.

Solo: A Star Wars Story premieres May 25.

‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - Official Trailer #2 [HD]

With NBC broadcasting this year’s game, sister studio Universal had a big presence during the game’s valuable between-the-game moments — and no upcoming project is bigger for the studio than the sequel to 2015’s Jurassic World. The sequel brings back Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, as well as Jeff Goldblum, who will reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm, a central character from 1993’s Jurassic Park and its 1997 follow-up, The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Like its predecessor, Fallen Kingdom is co-written by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, but Juan Antonio Bayona (The Orphanage, A Monster Calls) takes over as director. The first trailer for the film debuted in December 2017.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is scheduled to hit theaters June 22.

‘A Quiet Place’

A Quiet Place (2018) - Big Game Spot - Paramount Pictures

This supernatural thriller follows a family that must keep quiet at all times to avoid a mysterious, sinister entity lurking outside their home’s walls. Everything we’ve seen of the film so far is appropriately creepy, and the film stars real-life married couple John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. It’s also co-written and directed by Krasinski.

A Quiet Place hits theaters April 16.

‘Red Sparrow’

Jennifer Lawrence plays a former ballerina who becomes a lethal secret agent in this thriller that reunites the Oscar-winning actress with director Francis Lawrence, who directed her in the final three installments of the Hunger Games franchise. The film co-stars Joel Edgerton, Matthias Schoenaerts, Charlotte Rampling, Mary-Louise Parker, and Jeremy Irons.

Red Sparrow premieres March 2, 2018.

Updated on February 4: Added the Super Bowl trailer for Avengers: Infinity War.

3 underrated (HBO) Max movies you should watch this weekend (June 28-30)
A girl looks at a boy in House at the End of the Street.

June is surprisingly over, and with it, a great month for movies comes to a satisfactory close. You've probably watched Inside Out 2 or Bad Boys: Ride or Die or maybe even The Bikeriders. From blockbusters to indie fare, the theatrical movie business has been robust and healthy.

The same goes for streaming. Netflix had a big hit with Richard Linklater's Hit Man, while Amazon Prime Video recently premiered the latest bonkers season of The Boys. HBO and Max have been quieter, but their robust library speaks volumes to the streamer's high quality. The following three films are older, but are just as worth your time as new hits like House of the Dragon season 2.

The best Netflix original series right now
Eric and Benedict Cumberbatch in Eric.

The era of Peak TV was also Peak Netflix, because the streamer seemingly had an endless supply of new original series. So far in 2024, that hasn't been the case. Whether we'll ever get the same level of content again seems unlikely for now. But even in a reduced capacity, Netflix still has a few new additions to its lineup of originals.

For the month of June, we're adding the '80s-set thriller, Eric, which stars Benedict Cumbebatch. Our other pick for the month is Supacell, which is Netflix's new British series that remixes some old superhero archetypes. That's not a very big selection for fans who always want something new, but this roundup of the best Netflix original series really does have all of the top options in one place for you. All you have to do is scroll down and make time to binge watch some shows.
