‘The Green Hornet’ Trailer Released Online

“The Green Hornet” will star Seth Rogen as Brit Reid, a newspaper publisher who assumes the role of a unconventional action hero. The film is directed by Michel Gondry and is scheduled to be released on January 14 of next year in 2D/3D.

Synopsis: By day, Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) is a millionaire publisher and popular media figure, but by night, Reid assumes the identity of fearless crime fighter The Green Hornet and teams with his trusted sidekick, Kato (played by Asian pop star-turned-actor/director Jay Chou), to keep the streets safe for average citizens. Producer Neal H. Moritz spearheads this big-screen adaptation of the popular radio serial, comic book, film, and television series originated by Lone Ranger creators Fran Striker and George W. Trendle. Rogen and frequent writing partner Evan Goldberg provide the screenplay, with visionary Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) handling directing duties. Transformers One trailer turns an origin story into a buddy comedy

The Transformers animated series from 1984 first established an origin story for Optimus Prime and Megatron on their home world of Cybertron. But as originally envisioned, Megatron, the future leader of the evil Decepticons, was only a false friend to Orion Pax, who would go on to become the Autobots' leader, Optimus Prime. Subsequent incarnations in other media have reconfigured that relationship, but the upcoming animated movie, Transformers One, is the first to take the future rivals and pair them up in a buddy action comedy.

Oh, what a lovely day! Almost a decade after George Miller stunned the film-loving world with the release of Mad Max: Fury Road, the director is back with Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. The film, a prequel to Fury Road, will focus on a younger Furiosa in the days before she tries to escape from Immortan Joe.

This will be the fifth film in the Mad Max franchise, which spans more than 40 years, going back to 1979. Until now, every film in the franchise has focused on Max Rockatansky and his adventures through a dystopian wasteland. June is surprisingly over, and with it, a great month for movies comes to a satisfactory close. You've probably watched Inside Out 2 or Bad Boys: Ride or Die or maybe even The Bikeriders. From blockbusters to indie fare, the theatrical movie business has been robust and healthy.

The same goes for streaming. Netflix had a big hit with Richard Linklater's Hit Man, while Amazon Prime Video recently premiered the latest bonkers season of The Boys. HBO and Max have been quieter, but their robust library speaks volumes to the streamer's high quality. The following three films are older, but are just as worth your time as new hits like House of the Dragon season 2.
