Thor trailer

If you haven’t heard of the upcoming film Thor, just give it time, Marvel Studios will find you and make sure you know everything you need in order to prepare for one of this summer’s first blockbusters.

Thor is an important film for Marvel, in more ways than one. Besides the hefty $150 million price tag that the studio needs to recoup in order to put that money towards future projects, Thor is also the first Marvel film that will act specifically as a springboard to The Avengers. The Iron Man films are part of that universe as well, but both films were created before The Avengers film—and the high expectations that go with it—was fleshed out.

Thor (played by Star Trek’s Chris Hemsworth) is an arrogant, but noble Asgardian God who wields the power of thunder. Son of Odin, Thor is stripped of his power by his father after unwittingly unleashing an ancient enemy that threatens both Earth and Asgard. He is banished to Earth, where Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), an astrophysicist, finds Thor and takes him in. Meanwhile in Asgard, Odin (Anthony Hopkins) deals with the repercussions of Thor’s actions, and looks to Thor’s adopted brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), who has plans of his own.

Thor also stars Stellan Skarsgard, Ray Stevenson, Idris Elba, Rene Russo and Kat Dennings. It hits theaters in 3D on May 6, 2011.

During the Super Bowl, the first trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine had a notable lack of Wolverine. The reveal of Hugh Jackman's iconic comic book movie hero was saved for another time, which has now arrived. Marvel Studios has released the second trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, which features Wolverine almost immediately coming face-to-face with Deadpool. And he's not happy to see him.

Transformers One trailer turns an origin story into a buddy comedy
The main heroes in Transformers One.

The Transformers animated series from 1984 first established an origin story for Optimus Prime and Megatron on their home world of Cybertron. But as originally envisioned, Megatron, the future leader of the evil Decepticons, was only a false friend to Orion Pax, who would go on to become the Autobots' leader, Optimus Prime. Subsequent incarnations in other media have reconfigured that relationship, but the upcoming animated movie, Transformers One, is the first to take the future rivals and pair them up in a buddy action comedy.

7 best Robert Downey Jr. movies, ranked
Tony about to snap his fingers in Avengers: Endgame.

Robert Downey Jr.— pardon me, Academy Award winner Robert Downey Jr. — has been acting for over 40 years. The actor rose to prominence in the 1980s before achieving international stardom in the new millennium with his portrayal of Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Although his career has seen numerous peaks and valleys, Downey Jr. has proven himself a man of impressive resilience; whenever he's seemingly been discarded, he always finds his way back to the top. Downey Jr. will next be seen in a new HBO television show, Park Chan-wook's The Sympathizer, which is further proof that he is indeed in the prime of his career. And while he has starred in many memorable pictures, these select few are the best by far.
