Believe it or not, people relied on Craigslist to find jobs, apartments, gigs, and services. In Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, the titular brothers used Craigslist to find wedding dates. Mike (Adam DeVine) and Dave (Zac Efron) constantly ruin their family’s gatherings. With their sister’s wedding approaching, the family gives the boys an ultimatum: they must bring dates.

Naturally, Mike and Dave use the internet to find dates by posting an ad on Craigslist. The ad goes viral and leads to a talk show appearance, attracting the attention of Tatiana (Aubrey Plaza) and Alice (Anna Kendrick). The girls view the wedding as a free vacation to Hawaii. The girls lie about their identities to win the gig. When the girls would rather party in Hawaii than hang with the family, the wedding begins to fall apart, putting Mike and Dave in a precarious position.
