Stop! And watch these 3 movies leaving Netflix by November 1

With November rapidly approaching, Netflix will soon part ways with several films from its library. Many popular movies will be saying goodbye to the streamer next month, including Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Reservoir Dogs, and Cliffhanger.

However, there is still time to watch those and other departing movies. Below, we listed three films that will be leaving Netflix at the end of October. Our selections include an iconic Batman adaptation, a charming action rom-com, and a 1990s comedy. Remember: November 1 is the last day to watch these films on Netflix.

The Dark Knight (2008)

The Joker stands on the street and stares in The Dark Knight.
Warner Bros. Pictures

The Dark Knight’s place in superhero culture has been debated ad nauseam. Yet, The Dark Knight remains one of the best comic book movies of all time. Not only did it set the standard for superhero films, but The Dark Knight forced the Oscars to increase the number of Best Picture nominees after the film’s exclusion from the category.

Christopher Nolan’s groundbreaking sequel picks up roughly a year after the events of Batman Begins. Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) is still protecting the city as Batman. However, Bruce realizes the way to eliminate organized crime is through the law. Batman teams with Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) to take on the mob. However, a new threat known as the Joker (Heath Ledger) terrorizes the city as an agent of chaos, pushing Batman’s morality to the ultimate test.

Miss Congeniality (2000)

A woman walks next to a man with people watching from behind.
Warner Bros. Pictures

If Julia Roberts is the “Queen of romantic comedies,” then Sandra Bullock is the genre’s princess. After breaking into the genre with While You Were Sleeping, Bullock added some action to her romantic comedy in Miss Congeniality. Gracie Hart (Bullock) is a tomboy working as a special agent in the FBI. After a sting operation goes haywire, Gracie is demoted to a desk job.

However, Gracie gets her shot at redemption when a mysterious terrorist threatens to bomb the Miss United States beauty pageant. The FBI needs someone to go undercover as a contestant to gain intel on the threat. The only option is Gracie, who is the furthest thing from grace and elegance. For Gracie, stopping a bomb threat is easy. Acting like a pageant contestant is difficult.

Liar Liar (1997)

Jim Carrey pulls back on a boys face in Liar Liar.
Universal Pictures

From 1994 to 2008, Jim Carrey was one of the biggest and most bankable stars in Hollywood. After a trio of films in 1994 – Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber – catapulted him to superstardom, Carrey continued to flex his box office muscles in 1997’s Liar Liar, which grossed over $300 million on a $45 million budget.

Fletcher Reede is a successful defense attorney because of his ability to lie. Unfortunately, his cunning attitude led to a divorce and a weak relationship with his young son, Max (Justin Cooper). After Fletcher misses his birthday party, Max wishes for his father to stop lying for 24 hours. Never underestimate a birthday wish because this one comes true. Fletcher is physically incapable of lying, with that newfound honesty threatening his important court case and relationship with his son.
