Following in the steps of its predecessor, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, the next film in the rebooted X-Men franchise will return to Montreal for production.

Journal De Montreal reports that X-Men: Apocalypse will begin constructing sets in the Quebec city later this year, with cameras expected to start rolling in April 2015. The film will return to Studio Mel’s, the Montreal production studio that was home to Days Of Future Past.

While the primary villain of the film was revealed in Days Of Future Past — and in the film’s title — details of the film’s plot and which characters are most likely to return are unknown at this point. With Days Of Future Past effectively resetting the continuity of the franchise and establishing X-Men: First Class as the dominant timeline, it’s reasonable to expect a return for many of that film’s primary cast members, though.

X-Men: Apocalypse will be directed by Bryan Singer, who posted a photo of the first page of the script from Simon Kinberg, Mike Dougherty, and Dan Harris back in July.

The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters May 27, 2016.
