We love us some duck face — Zoolander 2 trailer breaks record for Paramount

The trailer for Zoolander 2, which was released last week, has managed to break records for Paramount Pictures to receive the most online views for a comedy trailer, reports Variety.

It appears that fans have already watched the video 52.2 million times since it was made available on November 18. In the sequel, Ben Stiller returns as the duck-faced, dim-witted male model Derek Zoolander, along with Owen Wilson as his equally dunce (but ridiculously good-looking) rival Hansel McDonald. Several big-name actors are also set to appear in the follow-up flick, including Will Ferrell, Christine Taylor, Milla Jovovich, and Justin Theroux, who will be reprising roles from the first film, along with Penelope Cruz, Kristen Wiig, Fred Armisen, and Kyle Mooney. Perhaps the most notable new additions to the cast for cameo appearances, however, include pop favourite Justin Bieber, and Benedict Cumberbatch in stunning drag.

Stiller serves as both star and director of this film, which will see Zoolander and Hansel a decade later, seemingly now has-been models, forced to team up and try to rid the world of the beautiful people that are clearly getting all the attention nowadays. On the hit list to eliminate in hopes of making Hansel and Zoolander relevant again is, of course, Bieber, as well as other pop stars and starlets like Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Usher, and Lenny Kravitz.

In addition to starring and directing, Stiller has his hands full in this cookie jar, also having written the script alongside Theroux, Nick Stoller, and John Hamburg. He will also have producing credits with Stuart Cornfeld, Scott Rudin, and Clayton Townsend. Jeff Mann serves as executive producer.

This duo of dummies has dethroned the previous duo to hold the record: Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels were the previous record holders, with 49 million views in a single week for the trailer for Dumb and Dumber To. That sequel came 20 years after the original. Luckily, Zoolander fans will only have had to wait 15 years: Zoolander 2 will be released in theaters on February 12, 2016.

3 underrated (HBO) Max movies you should watch this weekend (June 28-30)
A girl looks at a boy in House at the End of the Street.

June is surprisingly over, and with it, a great month for movies comes to a satisfactory close. You've probably watched Inside Out 2 or Bad Boys: Ride or Die or maybe even The Bikeriders. From blockbusters to indie fare, the theatrical movie business has been robust and healthy.

The same goes for streaming. Netflix had a big hit with Richard Linklater's Hit Man, while Amazon Prime Video recently premiered the latest bonkers season of The Boys. HBO and Max have been quieter, but their robust library speaks volumes to the streamer's high quality. The following three films are older, but are just as worth your time as new hits like House of the Dragon season 2.

The best Netflix original series right now
Eric and Benedict Cumberbatch in Eric.

The era of Peak TV was also Peak Netflix, because the streamer seemingly had an endless supply of new original series. So far in 2024, that hasn't been the case. Whether we'll ever get the same level of content again seems unlikely for now. But even in a reduced capacity, Netflix still has a few new additions to its lineup of originals.

For the month of June, we're adding the '80s-set thriller, Eric, which stars Benedict Cumbebatch. Our other pick for the month is Supacell, which is Netflix's new British series that remixes some old superhero archetypes. That's not a very big selection for fans who always want something new, but this roundup of the best Netflix original series really does have all of the top options in one place for you. All you have to do is scroll down and make time to binge watch some shows.
