Kanye West has dropped the second in a series of weekly singles, a new song featuring Kendrick Lamar called No More Parties In LA. The new cut was put out as part two of the musician’s recently-revamped G.O.O.D. Friday series.

At six and a quarter minutes in length, the extended new track is just long enough for most fans to forget that the song actually dropped three days late, first hitting the internet Monday because West had to fly to Italy for a fitting for his new clothing line, according to a tweet from wife Kim Kardashian.

An old-school banger with a classic soul-driven guitar hook, the song features extended air time from both of the famed wordsmiths, with Kanye delivering his longest recorded rap verse in almost half a decade.

The sound of the new single marks a distinct return to the beat-driven self-descriptive raps of West’s previous monster LPs Late Registration, College Dropout, and Graduationa, which many fans consider be some of his best work.

With a beat produced by legendary Stones Throw Records producer Madlib, and a guest verse by California’s most famous modern rapper, West throws the best of the new together with the best of the old. In doing so, the musician demonstrates perhaps the most acclaimed element of his longstanding musical success — his ability to cultivate stellar collaborations.

But even with such star-studded partners, it’s nice to see the rapper get less pop-perfect results; No More Parties In L.A. retains a rough-around-the-edges-feel that distances itself from the shimmery post-production magic that listeners heard on more recent releases, like 2013’s Yeezus.

Between Parties and the first release in the latest G.O.O.D. Friday series, Real Friends, there is a lot for old-school Kanye fans to latch onto as of late. And both of these new cuts should reinforce the high hopes of music fans who are looking forward to West’s next record, Swish, due out next month.

How to download music and podcasts from Spotify: The downloads folder.

If you're a Spotify Premium user paying that premium Spotify fee, chances are you've taken at least some time curating playlists, liking songs, and using the platform's easy-to-use (and recently revamped) user interface to discover new and old music.

But sometimes all that music or your favorite podcasts aren't available if you find yourself without an internet connection to stream them from — like on a long plane ride or weekend camping trip in the sticks. That's where Spotify's offline listening feature comes in handy, allowing you to download playlists, albums, and podcasts through its desktop and mobile apps so you can still rock out while you're off the grid.

How to switch from Spotify to Apple Music
Spotify and Apple Music transfer on a smartphone.

Spotify is the world's most popular music streaming service for a reason. It has a massive catalog of music and podcasts, is full of cool music discovery and sharing features, and is really easy to use.
However, with its recent price increase and the fact that it still hasn't joined most of its peers in offering a hi-res audio quality option, you may be considering jumping ship for its closest competitor, Apple Music, which counts lossless hi-res tracks, mind-bending spatial audio, Dolby Atmos Music tracks, and a catalog that rivals Spotify's among the many attractive reasons to switch.

But there's one problem: you’ve spent a lot of time creating playlists and marking songs and albums as your favorites in Spotify. Is it worth the switch? Will all that hard work be lost in translation?
