Otterbox quenches your summer thirst with new 64-ounce growler

Otterbox, a company best known for creating rugged cases for smartphones, continues to expand its product line into other areas. Back in May, the brand released a line of high-performance coolers that are poised to go head-to-head with Yeti in that increasingly crowded market space. Now, it has also introduced its first growler, giving thirsty outdoor enthusiasts yet another option for transporting their favorite beverages to and from campsites and backyards gatherings.

The new Elevation 64 growler is made from rugged stainless steel and features vacuum-sealed construction along with an interior copper lining. This not only allows the container to keep its contents cold during warm weather outings, but also prevents it from picking up adverse tastes and smells along the way. As the name implies, the growler offers 64 ounces of capacity, which translates to nearly two liters of liquid. It also comes equipped with a durable cap that not only provides an airtight seal, but also doubles as a handle.

Back in 1998, the Colorado-based company first burst onto the outdoor scene when it released a line of dryboxes designed to keep important items safe from the elements while on paddling trips or hiking through the backcountry. Later, Otterbox found success beyond the traditional outdoor market by introducing a series of durable, waterproof cases for smartphones and tablets as well. Last year, the company even introduced an innovative modular case for the iPhone that extended the device’s core functionality with a series of add-ons that included Bluetooth speakers, battery packs, tripods, and much more.

With its recent foray introduction of both premium coolers and tumblers, Otterbox has shown that it is willing to challenge market leader Yeti in that space. Yeti has created an amazing fan following by selling tough, over-engineered coolers, mugs, and growlers that perform exceptionally well in a variety of conditions. Those products also happen to sell at a substantial price. Otterbox seems ready to follow that same model and the introduction of the Elevation 64 is a natural extension of that plan.

The new growler is tinted black and is expected to start shipping soon at a price of $90. Those wanting to receive notification on its availability can sign up for updates on the Elevation 64 product page.
