Kodak Announces 10 Megapixel EasyShare C180

In a somewhat unusual move, Kodak has taken the wraps of its new EasyShare C180 digital camera, an entry-level point-and-shoot system featuring a 10.2 megapixel resolution, a 2.4-inch LCD display, easy YouTube uploading, and a suggested price tag of just $119.95. The catch? The EasyShare C180 won’t be available until August 2009…making the product’s announcement something more akin to a prophecy in the fast-moving digital technology industry.

The EasyShare C180 will boast a 3× optical zoom, face-detection technology, and blur reduction to minimize the effects of camera motion and shakes. The camera will have 16 MB of internal memory and save images to SD/SDHC cards, and features ISO 1250 sensitivity. The camera will also enable users to upload images and video to YouTube and Kodak’s own online Gallery via a dedicated Share button and Kodak’s EasyShare software. And, the unit runs on AA batteries so keeping it powered on the road isn’t much of a problem.

The camera is slated to be available in red, blue, pink, and silver…but, again, folks will have to wait until August for it to roll around.
