Jen Karner joined the team as contributing writer for the home theater section of Digital Trends in 2024, where she writes about streaming services, A/V equipment, and more. You can often find her talking about how to find the best streaming services, or fangirling over the newest episode of her favorite shows.
From 2015 to 2019, she was a contributing writer for AndroidCentral, iMore, WindowsCentral and VRHeads, where she covered phones, wearable technology, apps, games, and all things VR. In 2020 she joined the high yield team at Future where she worked as a writer & editor, writing about everything from books and movies, to vacuums and gadgets. Over the years she has also been part of the Go Time podcast, appeared on the news to talk about technology and safeguarding personal information, has appeared on All Sides with Ann Fisher on NPR, and interviewed Theo Rossi about filming a movie with VR elements.
She got started with technology as a kid where she helped her Dad build home PCs, and started gaming before there was a “World” of Warcraft. As a teenager she fell in love with TV shows like Buffy, and has spent years hunting down the best shows and TV programs to get her friends hooked on along with her.
Jen lives in Baltimore with her partner, their very fluffy dog, and a grumpy orange rescue cat. When she’s not writing for DigitalTrends you can find her hunched over her keyboard writing her next novel, or running around in the woods at a LARP.
While Jen is most active on Threads, and IG, you can find her all over the internet @Articulatedream.
