New Hermes, Product Red, and Apple bands coming soon for the Apple Watch

Apple has announced several new finishes for the Apple Watch, and a wide selection of new Watch bands. While the hardware remains unchanged, it has been given new colors and new bands, ready to customize the look even further. Here’s what we know so far.

Apple Watch Hermès ($1250 – $1500)

A new partnership was announced on stage in San Francisco: Fashion designer Hermès will be producing special bands for the Watch. Prices haven’t been announced, but they’re unlikely to be cheap, and they’ll be on sale in October through selected retailers.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given its obvious suitability, Apple has launched a Product Red Apple Watch Sport band. Apple will donate a percentage of the Product Red profits to the fight against AIDS.

New Apple bands ($49 – $449)

Apple has launched an new selection of its own Watch Sport bands, in a variety of colors. These include a grey, brown, cream, and a sky blue hue, plus a pink, reworked black, and two shades of red. New leather bands with a two-tone finish will also go on sale.

New Apple Watch finishes ($349 – $399)

Apple’s not stopping with the bands either, it will introduce several new finishes for the Watch body. These include a gold and a rose gold finish for the Watch Sport — but neither will be actual gold, that’s still reserved for the Watch Edition. At least everyone can get the look, without needing a bank loan.

Prices aren’t going to change, and the new shades will be available for both the 38mm and 42mm body. They’ll be available when the Apple Store reopens later today.

The new Watch models and Watch straps have been announced at Apple’s September 9 event, and details are still coming through. We’ll update here once we know more, so keep checking back.
