Your wrist may already be home to some high tech, but it can now also feature some high fashion. That’s right — your wearable is getting a major face-lift now that fashion houses like Kate Spade, Diesel, and Emporio Armani are jumping on the smartwatch trend. This week, Fossil Group introduced more than 40 new devices sporting the well-known brand names of some giants in the fashion world. The new smartwatches combine luxury, design, and, of course, technology.

“Today, technology decisively influences our daily lives. There’s an app for everything, and I find that in many cases, they’re inventions that actually improve our lives,” Giorgio Armani said of his brand’s new product line. “I’m delighted to present a hybrid smartwatch, which marks the entrance of Emporio Armani — a brand always at the forefront of innovation — into the world of connected accessories. This line of timepieces combines stylistic research, high technological content, immediacy, and ease of use,” he added.

The Emporio Armani Connected hybrid smartwatches promise a number of features that are now standard on smartwatches including activity tracking, music control, and the ability to locate your lost smartphone. The hybrid smartwatch also allows users to wirelessly take photos on their smartphone, provides discreet notifications, but best of all, requires very infrequent charging. In fact, the battery on these guys is purported to last for six months.

You can check out the full Emporio Armani Connected line of hybrid smartwatches on www.emporioarmaniconnected.com, where watches are available in rose gold, black, gunmetal, and stainless steel. You can also choose between a three-piece link or leather strap.

“We know technology is a major disruptor in many industries right now — even fashion,” said Jill Elliot, chief creative officer at Fossil. “But to successfully merge the two, we need to have the fashion design expertise and focus on it first.”

Razer Anzu smart glasses deal knocks $140 off the price tag
The Razer Anzu smart glasses placed on top of an open book.

While smartwatch deals have slowly claimed their place in the mainstream, smart glasses haven't turned out to be as popular. Gaming-focused brand Razer, however, is trying to renew interest in smart glasses with the Razer Anzu, which you can currently purchase from Best Buy at $140 off. If you'd like to give them a try, they're available for just $60, less than half their original price of $200.

There have been failures like the Google Glass and Snap Spectacles, and hopeful attempts like Oppo's Air Glass and Apple's secretive project, but the Razer Anzu smart glasses take a different spin on the wearable device by designing them for indoors. While they come with polarized sunglass lenses, their clear lenses are more useful with their blue light filter, which protects your eyes from screen glare to prevent discomfort even after hours of playing video games or working from home. The smart glasses, which also have a built-in omnidirectional microphone and speakers, may also be more comfortable to wear for an extended period of time compared to headsets and headphones. You'll enjoy smooth, stutter-free sound with the Razer Anzu's low latency audio with a 60ms Bluetooth connection.
