Hear how Steve Jobs may have launched the Apple Watch

Apple Watch Intro by Steve Jobs
The Apple Watch is a quintessentially Apple product. It’s attractive, beautifully made, and like many of the firm’s brand new products, it most definitely isn’t the first example of its genre on sale. What if it had received a quintessentially Apple launch? That’s not to say Tim Cook and the team did a bad job, but some will wonder how would Steve Jobs have introduced the world to this new device?

We’ll never know for sure, of course, but this video gives us an idea about what he may have said when showing the Apple Watch off for the first time. It’s a cleverly created tribute to Jobs and the Watch itself, that uses a standard promo video with a Steve Jobs voice over, stitched together using clips from announcements made before his death.

“Every once in a while,” the voice over says, “a revolutionary product comes along, that changes everything.” Steve Jobs said this when he introduced the original iPhone way back in 2007, and the quote shouldn’t be used lightly. The video continues, going on to reference the iPhone 4 launch by quoting Jobs saying, “We’re going to take the biggest leap since the original iPhone,”

The video goes on to piece together some less well known quotes, many of which sound surprisingly relevant to the Watch — such as when he described the iPhone 4’s “beautiful stainless steel band,” and the old sixth generation iPod Nano as, “instantly wearable.”

The Apple Watch is the company’s first smartwatch, and its first adventure into the world of wearable technology. Steve Jobs remains known for his iconic product launches, and whether you’re an Apple fan or not, there’s no denying he had a stage presence like few other CEOs. We’ll never know how he would have approached the Apple Watch unveiling, making this video rather special.

Smartwatches and cameras rarely go together very well. We’ve seen smart wristwear with cameras fitted in the past, but the combination wasn’t very successful, and few manufacturers even bother today.

This Apple Watch X concept is absolutely absurd
The Apple Watch X concept comes from the German design firm Wordsmatter.

Later this year or in 2025, Apple is expected to release the tenth-generation Apple Watch, which could be called the "Apple Watch X" — similar to how the 10th iPhone was named the iPhone X. This release is highly anticipated, and third-party designers are already creating concepts for it. One such design has caught our attention.

Designer Lukas Gehrer at the German design agency Wordsmattr came up with an extraordinary concept. It's a fun design that's quite over the top. The Apple Watch X design looks much like the Apple Watch Ultra 2, but with thinner and curved edges. It's made of dark titanium, different from the natural titanium used in the current Apple Watch Ultra and its predecessor. A Space Gray or Space Black titanium Apple Watch has also been long-rumored, but hasn't happened yet.
